You Are What Makes the Pauli Murray Center's Future Possible!
10th Anniversary Campaign
Ten Years. We are immensely proud of all that our community has accomplished in our first decade. Since 2012, the Pauli Murray Center has activated spaces for community gathering, learning, dialogue, and creativity; spaces where history is an esteemed teacher.
Thanks to you and others in Durham, across the U.S. South, around the country, and even internationally, the Pauli Murray Center is firmly rooted. Now, we need YOUR help to continue growing and thriving.
Our vision for the Welcome Center porch!
At the Pauli Murray Center, we embrace our collective past and present – with all its complexity, contradictions, pain, and beauty – and work toward a future of healing and hope. You are what makes this future possible. Before the year’s end, please give as generously as you can to help ensure that the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice will grow and flourish for many years to come.
As we embark on our second decade, we are excited to open Pauli Murray’s childhood home to the public, begin work on the adjacent Welcome and Education Center, develop thoughtful K-12 curricula for generations of new learners, deepen our work with faith communities, and support up-and-coming firebrands through our summer internship program.
Your support is more important now than ever. In 2023, our freedoms, liberties, and collective futures are increasingly threatened by those who would rather hoard and cling to systemic power than see leadership and resources distributed more equitably. In these times, the example of Pauli’s life-long struggle for human rights for all is a powerful north star, an antidote inspiring us to share our stories and live into our potential as changemakers.
